About Us

ELIZABETH SEELEY-WAIT holds several degrees including a Masters degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology (University of Massachusetts) and a Masters degree in Human Development (Harvard University). In 2007, she was selected to spend a year furthering her experience as a Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University. She holds a specialty working with children, adolescents and families. She has been treating people of all ages for nearly 10 years.

In the past, she has worked at the Harvard Medical School/Child Development Unit and the National Institute of Mental Health. Currently, she is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Macquarie University where she supervises clinicians, researches childhood anxiety and is a member of the Centre for Emotional Health.

Elizabeth has presented in many seminars and conferences in national and international forums. Elizabeth is published in scientific journals including: Neuropsychology, The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry: The Primary Care Companion and has recently been invited to write a book chapter on Social Anxiety Disorder in adolescence. 

TANIA TRAPOLINI holds an Honours degree in Psychology, as well as a Masters degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. Tania has worked in a range of community and hospital settings providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in children and adults. Tania is also experienced in the risk assessment of child protection matters.

Tania has a particular interest in paediatric and perinatal psychology. In addition to her private practice, Tania works as a clinical psychologist at the Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service at Liverpool Hospital. 

She has attended specialist training in the United States on the analysis and observation of attachment relationships between young children and their caregivers. Tania has presented at a range of national and international conferences, and has publications in a range of scientific journals including: The British Journal of Developmental Psychology; Journal of Affective Disorders; and Attachment and Human Development. She has recently been invited to write an article for Medicine Today on adolescent depression.

IVONE REBELO holds a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies, having majored in Psychology and History, from the University of Sydney. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma of Psychology from Macquarie University. Her thesis examined mother identity and wellbeing.  She is published in peer-reviewed journals in the area of anxiety.

Ivone has worked for three years at an outpatient Anxiety Clinic, having experience with children, adolescents and adults suffering from a number of anxiety concerns. Ivone is also experienced in conducting a range of assessments for families. She has a particular interest in mindfulness practices and recently attended a Buddhist meditation retreat at a monastery in Thailand.

Currently, Ivone works in private practice, works as a research clinician at Macquarie University Centre for Emotional Health and volunteers as a camp co-ordinator for a number of charity organizations, including Saint Vincent De Paul’s Society and the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARRTS).

KATHERINE HURRELL holds a B.Sc degree in Psychology at Macquarie University and a Masters in Clinical Psychology at University of Wollongong. Katherine also completed a post-graduate degree in Forensic Psychology, with a research focus in the area of malingering. Currently, she is completing a PhD at Macquarie University in the area of childhood anxiety, with a special focus on emotion regulation and parent factors. 

Katherine has experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in adults and children, and has received specialist training at Macquarie University Anxiety Research Unit. She has personally assisted Forensic Psychologists with psychological and neuropsychological evaluations and related forensic report writing. Katherine was also employed by the Department of Corrective Services to provide psychological services to offenders and conduct risk assessments and other psychological evaluations. Her other major interests include parenting, family and marriage. Katherine’s continuing postgraduate endeavours in clinical psychology are in keeping with her passion and commitment to the field. As a clinician, Katherine has a caring and supportive attitude and a desire for individuals to discover their personal significance and value.

SAMIRA SIDHWANI holds an Honours degree in Psychology and is completing her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology/Masters of Science degree at the University of Sydney. Samira has worked in a range of hospital and community settings, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adolescents, families and adults with a range of psychological disorders. Samira has worked extensively with international students by developing and integrating a series of student counselling services over a number of different campuses and has worked with people suffering from debilitating mental illnesses such as schizophrenia in a community based setting. Samira has a keen interest in trauma and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), family therapy, and sexual health difficulties.
 
Samira is currently conducting research on body image in young women across cultures and occasionally works as a volunteer mentor for the Smith Family.

JUDY ZOU holds an Honours degree in Psychology and is completing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology/Master of Science from the University of Sydney, conducting research on post-event rumination in social anxiety. Since 2006, Judy has gained a range of experience in public health and university settings. Judy has worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic pain and low self-esteem issues. She has also worked with children with developmental and intellectual delays providing both individual and group therapy. Judy also has experience in providing therapy for children with severe behaviour and emotional difficulties, bullying, and parent-child relationship issues.

Judy speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin, and can assist families or individuals with language barriers.

ANTHONY ARCURI holds a Doctor of Psychology in Counselling Psychology, along with a Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology, from Macquarie University. Anthony has close to 10 years’ experience treating adults and young people across a variety of settings, including private practice, youth drug and alcohol, mental health, university student, and generalist counselling settings.

In addition to his counselling work, Anthony has conducted research and taught across several universities and a non-government organisation. He has worked for a number of years conducting research in the areas of psychotherapy, substance use and young people. Anthony has published his work in international journals and books, and has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences. In addition, he has taught drug and alcohol studies and personality studies to undergraduates, and qualitative research methods to postgraduate students.

Anthony has a special interest in assisting people to overcome difficulties in their relationships with others (family, friends, colleagues), particularly where such difficulties give rise to significant emotional distress such as anxiety and depression.

DENISE CONSTANTINOU holds a Bachelor degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from Macquarie University. Denise also holds a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology the University of Western Sydney.  Denise has gained experience in a range of settings including correctional institutions, the court system, the community and hospitals. She has worked to deliver interventions with autistic children to improve functioning, and during her training was also involved in the assessment and treatment of adolescents experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

Denise has been employed by the NSW Department of Corrective Services to provide psychological interventions to a range of incarcerated offenders presenting with a variety of issues. In particular, Denise has worked extensively with young adult (18-25 years of age) and serious offenders, including assessment and management of risk of harm to self and others. Furthermore, Denise has significant experience in writing both Court and Parole reports including assessed risk of future violence and/or risk of recidivism. Prior to working in private practice, Denise was involved in providing intensive group and individual therapy for individuals with substance dependency and legal problems.

Throughout her work as a clinician, Denise has always taken a non-judgemental and caring approach and is keenly interested in assisting individuals to improve their overall quality of life.
