Autism and Autism-Spectrum Assessments and Therapy at:
The Children's Psychology Clinic (located within Western Sydney Psychology Practice and Northern Sydney Psychology Clinic).
Recently we have had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Azza Brown to our team. Ms. Brown is a child-focused psychologist with a background in Child Development and Education. She has speciality training and is passionate about responsible and thorough child assessment for Autism and Autism-Spectrum syndromes (including Aspergers).
Assessment
Assessment for Autism requires thorough and specialised testing using the ADOS and ADIR. These gold-standard assessments are conducted after Azza and yourself meet for an initial consultation. This consultation will allow both yourself and Azza to come up with an assessment plan which meets your child's needs and the specific diagnostic questions that require answering. Azza will liaise closely with your child's GP and Paediatrician.
If your child requires thorough testing using the ADOS and ADIR, Azza will meet with you and your child for this testing twice and within one week of testing, she will be able to write your report and meet with you for thorough feedback and recommendations for what to do next. Azza will happily liaise with your child's school and help to create a plan that will suit your child's specific needs.
Therapy - with a focus on skill-building
Azza meets with children and adolescents every week for therapy and skills training using evidence-based techniques. Azza will sit with parents in creating a treatment plan that suits their individual child's needs. Because no two children are alike, Azza will carefully consider all factors involved such as cognitive abilities, specific strengths, family relationships, culture and other personal variables.
You can expect the highest standard of care, thorough feedback and on-going results for your child.
